Obama delegate watch
Barack Obama gained two superdelegates yesterday, and is waiting for the last of the Oregon votes to be counted from Tuesday night's primary - he will probably gain a couple more delegates, but exactly how many is currently unknown so I have listed them as pending in the count below. Now, aside from the remainder of the Oregon pledged delegates and superdelegate endorsements, we are waiting to see what the DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee decides about Michigan and Florida on Saturday, May 31. Per Democratic Convention Watch, here's a look at where the race now stands:
Without Michigan and Florida:
63 delegates needed to secure nomination
310 delegates remaining (4 Oregon pending, 86 pledged, 211 superdelegates, 9 Edwards delegates)
Barack Obama needs to take 20.3% of the remaining delegates to secure the nomination
With Michigan and Florida:
168 delegates needed to secure nomination
406 delegates remaining (4 Oregon, 86 pledged, 241 superdels., 20 Edwards dels., 55 uncommitted)
Barack Obama needs to take 41.4% of the remaining delegates to secure the nomination
